|
|
This really is a rare opportunity to relish first hand the thrill
and excitement of flying in a T-6, the famous World War II classic
fighter-trainer aircraft. Known widely in the UK as the Harvard,
this two-place, dual controlled, single engine ex-military aircraft
is infamous in aviation history. Hear the charismatic growl of her
600 horsepower radial engine - evocative of a bygone era. Take yourself back in time when the Harvard was used to prepare RAF fighter pilots for aircraft like the Spitfire, Hurricane and Mustang. The particular aircraft used by Delta Aviation has a virtually identical cockpit configuration to the Mustang. This unique experience lasts for a total of approximately two to three hours depending on the flight duration selected. This includes a full briefing to encompass the all important safety drills, familiarization with the aircraft and her systems and the effects of the aircraft controls. During the course of the flight, the instructor will offer the chance to take control of this wonderful aeroplane and you can experience for yourself the challenges faced by so many young cadets. All flights are flown as a trial flying lesson with a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) qualified flying instructor as your pilot who will give you the opportunity to take control of this beautiful aircraft. Read our pilot biographies here. You will receive an open-dated voucher which is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Choose a convienient date to fly and book your experience with us. Simply call our office and quote your voucher number and we will arrange your flight - nothing could be easier! Unlike many operators we fly during the week and at weekends. The North American T-6 was one of the most important aircraft
designs of the Second World War era. With so many aircraft built, it
was inevitable that the T-6 would be used not only for its original
design brief purpose as a trainer but also in a wide variety of
other roles including advanced trainer, fighter, interceptor,
fighter-bomber, forward control aircraft and counter insurgency
aircraft. Sporting a variety of different names, it has served the
air forces in over 55 countries; the type has seen action in three
major conflicts - World War II, Korea and Vietnam and a
proliferation of minor hostilities. Buy online now! | |
