Delta Aviation Tiger Moth Stars As “Biggles Biplane”
When the producers of the BBC’s award-winning “Inside Out” series were looking for the perfect biplane to illustrate an article on the legendary fictional flying hero “Biggles”, they found the perfect solution with one of the Delta Aviation fleet.

Delta’s 1938-vintage Tiger Moth G-ADGT carries a livery very close to that of a period First World War fighter, so it was “scrambled” from Delta’s HQ at Northampton Sywell airport to play a starring role in the documentary story on the writer W.E Johns and his flying hero.

As well as a number of fly-pasts, the aeroplane was mounted on trestles and with the aid of a smoke generator, recreated a scene from one of the novels, as Biggles struggles with bad weather as he tries to fly to France!
