During 2007, The De Havilland School of Flying is organising weekend
residential courses at Sywell Aerodrome for PPLs who would like a
thorough introduction to the Tiger Moth. For current available dates, please click here: residential course dates The flying course includes 5 x 50 minute flying lessons and can be tailored for each individual based on their experience. A suggested syallabus would be: Lesson One: Introduction and general handling Lesson Two: Introduction to slow flight and stalling Lesson Three: Introduction to the circuit Lesson Four: Flexible (circuit consolidation / general handling) Lesson Five: Flexible (circuit consolidation / general handling) All of our Tiger Moth aircraft have video equipment installed allowing a thorough debrief of the flight with your flying instructor once back on the ground. The course includes ground instruction covering the following topics: Background and history of the Tiger Moth Technical introduction to the Tiger Moth Tailskid aircraft techniques Ground handling and prop swinging Courses start at Sywell Aerodrome on Friday evenings and conclude by Sunday afternoon. Full board and lodging provided at the Aviator Hotel at Sywell Aerodrome.
